In April 2020, once the reality of Covid lockdowns had set in, there was a glimmer of hope offered to all of us stuck at home during a hard lockdown. Gladys decided to approve playing golf as “exercise” and thus the only way we could meet up with our mates, was to play golf as a 2-ball. 8 of us dusted off our golf clubs, which for most of us had just been sitting in our garages gathering dust, and we headed down to Randwick GC to play a round.
As the pandemic continued to wreak havoc on our social lives, we soon discovered that playing golf regularly was going to be the only way to meet up, and thus the Corona Cup was born.
Fast forward to July 2022, and by this stage, our group of 8 had grown to 18. We decided to formalise the competition and set up two teams who would compete on a monthly basis for the Corona Cup.

In January 2024, we launched the Woozy Cup in Melbourne where a group of 20 guys started to play monthly rounds too. In December 2024 there will be a Perth chapter starting and we have now grown to a membership base of over 100 players.
In 2025 we hope to launch a Brisbane/Gold Coast chapter.
